OVERVIEW:  The port handles dry and liquid bulk, breakbulk and petroleum cargoes. A private facility handling palm oil exists at Lubuk Gaung, 6.5 n.m. NW of Dumai.

LOCATION:  On the west side of the Selat Rupat (Rupat Strait), and on the east coast of Sumatra, 53 n.m. SSW of Port Dickson.

CHARTS:  Indonesian Chart No. 18.BA Charts No. 3902  and 3933.

Publications:  BA Malacca Strait and West Coast of Sumatera Pilot, NP 44.

PORT LIMITS:  The northern part of Selat Rupat is not navigable for ocean-going vessels. The seaward limits to the east are defined by a line connecting the following positions: 01° 42.6′ N, 101° 30.0′ E
